Seeking the Creative: Faeryn Havill, Aspiring Tattoo Artist
How would you describe your art in three words?
Alive, euphoria, unyielding.
For 22 year old Faeryn Havill, the artist utilizes the beauty of the human body as their inspiration, and their canvas. The aspiring tattoo artist from Nanaimo, British Columbia, Canada, has been drawing detailed and intimate designs for the past two years. Faeryn honors the diversity and individuality within bodily shapes, and creates art that embraces the features that make us unique and distinctive. Their tattoo designs intertwine elements of nature with the human body, for example, connecting the carvings of a tree to the markings of our skin. In the future, Faeryn hopes to professionally work as a tattoo artist and transfer her designs onto fortunate customers, and even plans on one day curating their own adult coloring book. In the meantime, the aspiring artist continues to illustrate designs that reflect passion, talent, and thoughtfulness; the perfect attributes for an everlasting piece of art.
Where/how do you gather inspiration?
The human body is a huge inspiration for my art! There’s no “right” way to draw it, it comes in so many forms. There’s so much creative freedom.
What do you hope audiences retain from your work?
I hope that that the people who view my art see parts of themselves that the media doesn’t show. I hope they see themselves represented.
