Destiny Santana, an artist from Harlem, New York, paints with a palpable sense of passion and inspiration. For several years now, Destiny has been transforming canvases into intricate and unique pieces. The artist creates thought-provoking visuals with the urge to convey hidden messages and deeper meanings. She pulls inspiration for various corners of her life, using aspects like her family and heritage to fuel her work. Destiny sees her art eventually hanging in some of the world’s most prestigious art galleries, in hopes to spread her messages and connect with a wide audience.
Where/how do you gather inspiration?
My city/neighborhood/upbringing. My deep rooted Caribbean heritage. My family, friends and life experiences.
What do you hope audiences retain from your work?
I hope they retain my message and the hidden messages. I hope they retain my existence through my work.
