How would you describe your art in three words?
Bold, Ethereal, Inspiring.
Colby Miller exemplifies the power of an artist: someone who is able to project an important message or convey a powerful feeling through the most captivating means. The 25 year old artist from Houston, Delaware began experimenting with digital art during the fall of 2020 and has since assembled an impressive portfolio of eye-catching visuals. The artist is inspired by the realms of fantasy and nature, and these themes apparent in his work, which is focused on capturing the beauty of Black women. His art is packed full of vibrancy and creativity, and each piece is unlike the rest.
Where/how do you gather inspiration?
I gather a lot of my inspiration from fantasy and nature topics. I like emulating the beauty and strength of the world around us and the power of our imagination in my illustrations.
What do you hope audiences retain from your work?
I hope that my audience is exposed to the beauty that is Black women, a subject who are often left out of the everyday media. The art industry was built around European beauty standards, so I hope my art offers a different perspective.
