Seeking the Creative: Benjamin Labuzzetta, Painter
How would you describe your art in three words?
Engrossing, detailed and radiant.
Benjamin Labuzzetta’s paintings are so realistic, you’ll take a double-take in awe that you’re not glancing at a photograph. The 19 year old painter from Holmen, Wisconsin creates extraordinarily realistic portraits of the most prominent faces in pop-culture, with colorful and detailed features. Whether it’s Harry Styles portrayed with streaks of pastels, or New York Knicks player Obi Toppin painted dunking against a NYC skyline, Benjamin is combining familiarity with artistry in incredible ways. His works are immense and display meticulous dedication. In the future, Benjamin hopes to be working for some of the people he has painted, and to sell these incredible works worldwide.
Where/how do you gather inspiration?
I love gathering inspiration from other artists. Creativity inspires creativity. I am always finding more artist friends to bounce ideas off of or get advice from.
What do you hope audiences retain from your work?
The majority of my work is just realism but I hope to venture off into more pieces that are thought provoking and are more than just a recreation of an image.
