Seeking the Creative: Reagan Allen, Baker
How would you describe your art in three words?
Meticulous, delightful, delicious!
20 year old Reagan Allen brings back the classic nostalgic feelings of a home baked cake, with a colorful and creative “cherry on top.” The baker from San Antonio, Texas has been practicing in the kitchen since middle school, where she learned her tricks from her mother. In high school, Reagan launched her cake-selling business, The Goods Cakes, and has been creating custom made treats for lucky customers since. The creative chef sees her business growing into a full-time gig in the future, and is currently focusing on her decorating skills and perfecting her brand. For now, Reagan is having fun working with clients and producing both eye catching and mouth watering cakes.
Where/how do you gather inspiration?
The cakes I’ve been making recently have been inspired by cake decorators I follow— cakes with a vintage-feel are really trendy right now, and I’ve enjoyed learning more about baking and decorating as I’ve attempted to make cakes in that style! In terms of recipe inspiration, my buttercream is a family recipe, and my cake flavors are named after my friends!
What do you hope audiences retain from your work?
I hope people who order my cakes think they’re as beautiful as they are delicious, and that they add some excitement and flavor to any event they’re at!
